Self-Awareness Unit
Encourage students to develop a Growth Mindset with this interactive activity! They'll learn how to shift their thinking to positive thoughts and recognize when they need help.
Having a growth mindset means believing that with practice and effort we can improve our abilities, while a fixed mindset assumes that our abilities are predetermined. This video shows that by adding the word "yet" to negative thoughts, we can shift our mindset to focus on the potential for growth and development.
SocialMojis are cute and colorful emoji-style pictures that represent different emotions, and they are used as a fun and visual way to explore different feelings and emotions during your lessons. You can print them out and make them more durable by laminating them and attaching them to popsicle sticks for repeated use.
Self-Management Unit
Students can identify and manage their emotional reactions to changes and challenges by choosing a strategy from the Solution Choice Bar. This activity is a great tool for developing emotional self-awareness and self-regulation skills.
Discover how to recognize the warning signs that you're losing control, and what you can do to prevent yourself from getting too upset. Before you begin, ask your group to describe the physical or emotional symptoms they experience when they're stressed or angry.

Improve your situational awareness with the Tuning In Packet Activity, designed for intermediate-advanced students. Discuss the social situations in the comic strips and decide whether the people in them were Tuned In or Not Tuned In, then write the thoughts of others in the blank bubbles.
